Boast of Tsuruga

The rich nature and fresh seafood are sources of pride for Tsuruga. For nature, we have “Kehi-no-Matsubara”, one of the three most beautiful alongshore pine groves in Japan and “Mizushima”, uninhabited island where emerald green water stretches, and as for seafood, “Tsuruga blowfish” being tossed about by angry waves and “Echizen crab”, the king of winter tastes are famous. Also, we have historic resources such as “Kehi Shrine”, the tutelary shrine in Hokuriku mantled in green and “Kanegasakigu” famous as a shrine of love/for its cherry blossom-viewing, and statues of cartoon characters of a cartoonist Reiji Matsumoto, which is pleasing to the eyes of visitors.
